Fun Balance Classes!
We like to have fun in our balance class! Residents are challenged in new ways that they wouldn’t have thought possible at this stage in life. This week, the residents used yoga balls for stability practice.
As they held on to the barre for balance, the residents were taken through a series of exercises. Residents rolled forward and back, side to side, and in a circular motion. They also did knee lift and marching exercises. These exercises challenged our residents’ stability and proprioception, which is the body’s ability to sense awareness in space. Whether it is by changing terrain, form or creating a fun game, the Wellness Center’s goal is to strengthen our residents’ bodies while still having fun together.
